ADVANCE AID JOINS AIDEX STEERING COMMITTEE
Advance Aid is pleased to announce that it will be joining the Steering Committee for AidEx.
AidEx is an exciting new exhibition and conference aimed at helping the humanitarian aid community improve the delivery of aid – a cause very close to Advance Aid’s heart. The event aims to help buyers from governmental and intergovernmental agencies and NGOs engage directly with suppliers of essential equipment and services for disaster relief and longer-term humanitarian aid. It will be held in Brussels from 19th – 20th October 2011.
Steering committee members include: Mike Goodhand, British Red Cross; George Fenton, Humanitarian Logistics Association; Amjid Illahi Islamic Relief Worldwide; and Pierre Boulet-Desbareau, Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF). The committee’s main purpose is to help the organisers deliver an event that the humanitarian aid community really wants.
Organised by Centaur Exhibitions, part of the Centaur Media group, the exhibition is also hosting the AidEx Innovation Awards and has recently announced the appointment of Trevor Baylis, inventor of the wind-up radio and Michael Pritchard, inventor of the Lifesaver Bottle as patrons of the overall event and judges of the Innovation Awards.
